We are Degenerate Breakfast, a band of best friends making original music out of The University of Memphis. Combining the genres of alternative rock, punk, blues, jazz, and folk music, we have quickly stumbled upon a unique sound that benefits from witty lyrics and creative song structure. Comprised of four music students (plus a philosophy major), we use our broad range of musical taste and musicianship to our advantage. At our live shows, you will often be greeted with a two minute punk banger accompanied by belted vocals and an epic guitar solo, only to be followed by a seven minute alt-jazz ballad highlighted with a silky saxophone solo. We have been making a recent splash in the Memphis scene, playing many local venues and even getting to perform at Mempho Fest on the same day as Jack White and Sublime this past October. We became the first artists to record at the new studio in the Scheidt Family Performing Arts center and we are currently recording our first album in that same studio. For now we have two singles on all platforms. Stay hungry, Degenerate Breakfast is served.
